Italian 00 flour

by M
(Texas)

I'm using a fresh pasta recipe that calls for Italian 00 flour or strong bread flour, but i can't find it in my local stores.

Can I use flour for making pizza?

Not pizza, go plain... and where to buy type 00 flour.
by: Matt - Pasta Recipes Made Easy

Hey M and thanks for your question,

You're right, the real-deal 'double zero' or '00' flour can be tricky to track down.

Your replacement is easy though... just use general/all-purpose flour (sometimes called simply 'plain' flour) instead, rather than special pizza flour.

And should you want to order some double zero flour online, you can find it here on Amazon.

Enjoy your fresh pasta making!

Matt.

PS: Still on the subject of fresh pasta, you might also find my pasta cookbook of interest. This features printable versions of my fresh pasta making guides and exclusive downloadable videos of the same. Ciao!
