Imperia Pasta Maker Questions

by Linda

I don't know if this is the right place to ask, if not I apologize. So my questions...

A bit of story first. I bought my Imperia about 10 years ago or so. I used it a few times to make some whole wheat pasta, which my family didn't really care for, so it just sat around.

I eventually gave it to my daughter to use for Sculpey Clay. Now I find myself with the thoughts of using it for pasta again, only it has bits of clay stuck inside the machine. Can the machine be taken apart to be cleaned? Any help would be apreciated. Also, and I hope this isn't taboo here. Are there any grain-free pasta recipes?

Hmmm, good question re: the cleaning Linda. If the bits won't brush off with a pastry or clean painting brush, I would probably find myself attacking them carefuly with a knife (trying not to scratch the steel). Definitely soap and water are a no-no!

Re: grain-free, I know there's gluten-free pasta but that's not the same thing. To the best of my knowledge, if you remove the grains, it's pretty much egg and water, not pasta!
