Christmas Leftover Tips: don't throw good food in the trash.
Leftover food: turkey (already cooked or fresh)
Simple! Click through to this exclusive turkey tagliatelle recipe and use your remaining bird bits to create a delicious baked bechamel dish.
Leftover food: vegetables
Whether your veggies have been already cooked or are completely fresh, this vegetable pasta salad works a treat.
(Be sure not to cook pre-cooked veggies again... just mix these directly with succulent short pasta.)
Leftover food: bread
Leave your loaf to go hard (so to speak), but not mouldy, and it'll be perfect for turning into tasty Italian meatballs.
Check this meatball page, buy some tinned toms and ground beef, and get to it... then serve these meatballs with tomato sauce or pop them in this massive lasagna. Deeelicious.
VIDEO GUIDE: How to make pesto
This quick and easy video guide explains how to make pesto in just 5 minutes flat. Buy the 6 ingredients outlined in the first video, grab a small blender and cheese grater, and you’ll soon have enough fresh, crunchy Ligurian basil pesto to smother over your favourite pasta shapes and feed two.
Reader Recipes section
Designed to grow in line with Pasta Recipes Made Easy's traffic, this section of the site is dedicated to showing off your favourite pasta dishes. All the recipes here have been sent to me by e-mail, tested by me, and crucially - given the 'authenticity' thumbs-up by my mamma-in-law Marisa.
Simple baked spaghetti
This veggie-friendly tomato recipe is one of those reader favourites. It was originally taught to my mamma-in-law Marisa by her mother, Linda, who was my wife's grandma (still with me?). Grandma is ‘Nonna’ in Italian – thus this page’s nonna-ish name. Simply authentic and simply delicious.
Salmon pasta recipe
This lip-smacking salmon pasta recipe comes courtesy of a lovely Belgian reader called Heidi. Taste it, with its leek and onion crunch, fresh salmon strips, and subtle mix of herbs and spices, and it's hard to believe just how easy it is to make.
Learning La Lingua
If the Italian meal you're eating is seriously scrumptious, declare your appreciation by exclaiming "buono!" (pronounced 'bworno') - tasty!
Or is it even more delectable than that? Then go one better by adding a very common Italian word ending and announcing: "buonissimo!" Very tasty!
Twist your index finger into the side of your cheek (your face that is, not your butt...) to doubly reinforce your point.
To cook one billion pounds of pasta, you would need a mere 2,021,452,000 gallons of water; that's enough to fill almost 75,000 Olympic-size swimming pools!
